Addendum to “Shootin The Moon”

The 2011 “Super Moon” provided me with an excuse to go hang outside with the monopod and camera and pretend I knew what I was doing.  I actually did take some photos and some of them were ok, but I became so frustrated with the trial and error approach to taking that one really good picture of the moon.

I’d been reading photographer’s blogs off and on, and while standing in the front yard lamenting my general inability to use my very nice camera to anything near it’s intended purpose, I had an epiphany.  Somewhere I’d read how to take photos of the moon.  All I needed was to find that one blog again.

I ran back into the house and began searching and viola!! there it was; I’d been smart enough to actually bookmark it!!

So, with many thanks to Jeff Wignall, here’s the best photo of the moon I’ve taken to date, and one I must say I’m very proud of.
