Shootin’ The Moon

On New Year’s Eve 2009 we had a “Blue Moon” and I felt compelled to try and capture the image for a number of reasons, mostly because the next New Year’s Eve Blue Moon isn’t due until 2028 when I will 71 and who knows if I’ll be able to hold a camera still by then!!  So I rushed out and jumped in the car and spent some time trying to figure out how and where to get the best shot.  We won’t discuss the fact that I knew virtually NOTHING about my camera at that point and hadn’t really put enough effort into learning much either.  The best shot of the night looked like this:

1.2.10Driving home from Sister’s house last evening Sheli pointed out the gloriously golden moon just peeking over the horizon and I got that itch to once again try and capture it.

It’s been a year and I still don’t know enough about my camera and how to shoot night photos to even begin to get the shot I want.  But maybe I’ve learned something.  At least there’s not highway traffic!!2.21.11

Who knows, by the time I’m 71 maybe I’ll be able to get a clear and true color shot…
